“I wanted to write a short introduction about myself so you will know more about the captain. I’m Captain Derek and I came to Miami over 30 years ago from the Caribbean island of Trinidad to go to college. I fell in love with Miami and its people and made it my home. As a result I have explored the amazing waters of Biscayne Bay, The Keys and surrounding areas. Above all we take pride in offering you personalized yacht charters in Miami.
It has always been my dream to share the joy I get cruising these wonderful waters with others. Finally a few years ago I pursued that dream by becoming a captain and acquiring the yacht “Happy Ours”.
I always thought that the most fulfilling part of becoming a captain would be piloting boats. It turned out the joy in what I do is meeting amazing people with so many stories, and sharing this beautiful place called Miami!
We are a family operated charter that takes pride in our yacht with over 20 years experience. I am a USCG Master Licensed Captain with a perfect safety record. When you come aboard the crew will make you feel at home, with personalities that are laid back, easy going and friendly.

The yacht has a very large swim platform with a ladder so you can enjoy swimming in Miami’s beautiful waters. There are recliners on the forward sun deck so you can enjoy the breeze while you tan. There is also a covered aft deck if the sun is too much, furthermore there is an air conditioned interior for your comfort.”

The Captain’s Log also shows great pictures of the many destinations we visit like Key Biscayne and Nixons Sand Bar. This is a great spot to anchor and swim over to the sandbar or kayak if you prefer. Once at the sandbar the water depth is only two feet so you can stand or sit and relax. This anchorage is also near to Millionaires Row on Key Biscayne. Consequently after your swim we can cruise the canals and check out the beautiful mansions worth up to fifty million.
You will also see our guests enjoying their special events like dinner cruises, birthdays, family vacations, bachelorettes, proposals, anniversaries, renewal of vows, just to name a few. Most noteworthy we had a couple that wanted to renew their vows on their 25th anniversary including their two children. It was amazing, we made arrangements to have our pastor come aboard and renew their vows right at sunset. It included roses, champagne and appetizers.

Just love your passion and family pics!!! Really made me miss sailing for sure. I have only been on one sailing trip from New Buffalo Michigan to Chicago for the air and water show a few years ago and we sailed there through the night.
