The drive from Miami to River Ranch, FL was a breeze. When you enter the Westgate River Ranch Resort and Rodeo property, you know you’ve landed in the simple life. After checking in to our room (by the way, you can rent a glam-ping teepee), we checked out bikes and toured the grounds. We found fishing, a petting farm, mini-golf, and rounding off the afternoon with a dip in the heated pool and jacuzzi.
At night, we ate at the resort’s full-service restaurant. Kids and adults can find their filling here. Great menu items — I had the ribs 😉 — and service! We topped off the night with a ride on the mechanical bull before sitting fireside with s’mores.
This land is really one of the last untouched pieces of wild FL. The Ranch, which lies on 1,700 acres overlooking the scenic Kissimmee River, features an award-winning Saturday night rodeo to boot.
We really recommend the Ranch for its family-friendly activities, accommodations, amenities and staff. Kids rule here. Parents are very-well catered to, as well!
This was the perfect place to let our spurs down and really enjoy Florida nature and past time. Our time at the Ranch made for an unforgettable family vacation getaway!
